Metal Hammer is proud to announce that legendary death metal innovators Cannibal Corpse will headline the first-ever edition of Destroyers Of The Faith, and will be bringing with them some of the biggest names in extreme music.
CC drummer Paul Mazurkiewicz says: “Just being a part of such a killer package and having these bands on there… It’s gonna be an exciting time and a great tour for the UK. I hope all the fans are really pumped for this one, because we definitely are! This is the first time that this is happening in the UK, and it’s very exciting.”
Joining the New York titans of gore on this history-making trek will be none other than bowel-exploding doom metal kings Triptykon, spearheaded by seminal extreme metal icon Tom G. Warrior of Celtic Frost and Hellhammer fame. And, as if that wasn’t enough, both bands will also be joined by veteran Norwegian progressive black metallers Enslaved and rising Arizona death metal favourites, Job For A Cowboy.
JFAC frontman Jonny Davy adds: “It’s the perfect tour! We still feel like we have a lot to prove, and this is the perfect tour to get in everyone’s faces.”

Canadian metal legends ANVIL have been confirmed for this year’s edition of the Wacken Open Air festival, set to take place August 5-7, 2010 in Wacken, Germany.
BLOOD MORTIZED, the Swedish death metal band featuring former AMON AMARTH guitarist Anders Hansson (who played on AMON AMARTH’s first two albums, 1996’s “Sorrow Throughout The Nine Worlds” and 1998’s “Once Sent From The Golden Hall”) and CRYPT OF KERBEROS drummer Mattias Borgh, has parted ways with guitarist Benny Moberg “due to personal matters.” The group states, “This has nothing to do with the band, the material or the current members.
“Benny started BLOOD MORTIZED along with [vocalist] Mattias Parkkila back in 2007 and contributed with some heavy riffs on the early demos and debut album.
“BLOOD MORTIZED will replace Benny for the forthcoming brutal release.
“Benny will continue focusing on writing and producing music and is currently working on mixing BIRCH MOUNTAIN’s future debut album release. As of now in the planning phase is to reinstate the old beast machine MALFEITOR as a brutal, demo sounding, blood’n violence explosion!”
BLOOD MORTIZED’s self-titled debut album was released in April 2009 through Singapore’s Vrykoblast Productions.

The story explores a dark vision of the world of genetic engineering in which two young scientists (Polley and Brody) become superstars by splicing different animal DNA to create fantastical new creatures.
They ignore the legal and ethical boundaries and introduce human DNA into their experiment. The screenplay was written by Natali, Antoinette Terry Bryant and Doug Taylor.
California brutalists Gravehill recently took a break from working on their highly anticipated Ibex Moon Records debut to head down south to Texas for a string of shows with label mates, Hod. Safely home from the carnage and mayhem that ensued, vocalist Mike Abominator offered this summary of the mini-tour.
“The Texas shows couldn’t have been better. Hod kicked total ass and made us stay on top of our game! One of the best live bands we have seen and some of the best guys around in metal….PERIOD! It was an honor sharing the stage with them and playing our death metal for all those Texas maniacs! We met so many killer and diehard people in Texas. And I have fond memories of all three shows, but the San Antonio show was unforgettable due to the response of the crowd, the fights, equipment falling and going out, beer and blood flying, the fights, the mayhem, THE FIGHTS, ARGHHHHHH! What a show! Thank you to John/Ibex Moon and Beer Reebs/Hod for setting it all up! TEXAS! WE WILL BE BACK!”
Gravehill will also be among the many Ibex Moon acts contributing a song to the soundtrack to the upcoming indie horror flick, Afterparty Massacre. While said track might not be what Gravehill fans might expect from the band, Abominator guarantees brutality.
“We entered TRENCH STUDIOS for a weekend to do the exclusive track for the Afterparty Massacre movie soundtrack which Ibex Moon is putting out. We recorded the AC/DC song “If You Want Blood (You Got It)” for the release. It was Gravehill-ized so to speak, ha ha, but it came out GREAT. We even brought in our friends Shane from Phobia and Nick from Crepitus to scream and growl along with me on the infamous chorus! In the end, the song title, attitude of AC/DC and Bon Scott and even the overall performance of the song fit Gravehill PERFECTLY! Since we are the AC/DC of death metal! hahahaha”
In regards to the forthcoming album, the front man issued this update from the band’s own Hellheim Studios.
“Now we enter our studio/dungeon HELLHEIM STUDIOS to get the songs set for Pravus Tyrannis our 2nd album, and debut for Ibex Moon. Once we get the songs set, we will then enter TRENCH STUDIOS with Engineer John Haddad (who has worked with Phobia, Hirax, Abysmal Dawn, Final Conflict, Deathevokation) to record the eight songs of devastating and relentless death metal that this album will unleash upon the earth!”
In other news, Gravehill’s Rites Of The Pentagram was recently reviewed on Fangoria.com.

Israeli melodic extreme metal band WINTERHORDE has posted two brand new songs, “Tenth Wave” and “The Martyr and Deliverance”, on the group’s MySpace page. The tracks come off WINTERHORDE’s sophomore full-length album, “Underwatermoon”, which will be released later this year through an as-yet-undetermined label.
“Underwatermoon”, a conceptual album based on the story written by WINTERHORDE’s bass player and co-founder Celestial, was recorded partly with German producer V. Santura (DARK FORTRESS, TRYPTIKON, OBSCURA) and Morgenrrot, WINTERHORDE’s keyboards player. The CD was mixed and mastered by V. Santura at Woodshed Studio in Germany. The artwork was created by Gustavo Sazes of Abstrata Studio (ARCH ENEMY, OLD MAN’S CHILD, KRISIUN).
Commented Celestial: “‘Underwatermoon’ represents more-than-an-hour epic extreme metal art, blended with prog rock nostalgia and death-cold touch of North Atlantic Ocean. A must have for every open-minded metalhead who needs hunting journey through emotions in his metal.”
“Underwatermoon” track listing:
01. The Shell
02. Wreckages Ghost
04. Hunting the Human
06. And Flames Wept to Heaven
07. The Curse of Gypsy
09. Tenth Wave
10. Smoke Figures
11. The Martyr and Deliverance
The debut WINTERHORDE album, “Nebula”, was released in 2006 via Greece’s Burning Star Records.
For more information, visit www.myspace.com/winterhorde.
The band was formed in 1999, under the name “Autumn Palace” in Western Galilee, Israel. After two years if self-searching and line-up changing, the band renamed itself into WINTERHORDE and recorded one-song demo “In the land of Everfrost”. In 2002 WINTERHORDE release a live recording, which has been totally sold out the same day of its release. Official 4-song demo “In Traditions of Winter” was released in 2004 by SRG productions and got a plenty of excellent feedbacks from all over the world. The demo sold very well and even was reprinted due to the big interest of fans. Opening for such monsters as Dark Funeral and Melechesh led WINTERHORDE to the top of local extreme metal scene.
In 2006, the band signed a deal with Greek Burning Star records. The collaboration resulted in mind blowing debut album “Nebula”, combining melodic black with elements of death and modern progressive metal. The album got very good response from fans and media. Straight after the release, WINTERHORDE supported the album with European “Bringing the Cold” tour alongside with Finnish Catamenia as headliners. The ride included participation in Transylvanian “Maximum Rock” festival, opening for W.A.S.P and Crematory. The tour established a good fan base all around Europe, although some individuals couldn’t believe that Israeli band played that kind of music.
Back to homeland, WINTERHORDE began composing a new material, based on the poem, written by band’s bass player Celestial. In the beginning of 2008, Burning Star records ceased to exist, leaving WINTERHORDE without a record deal. On November 2008, the band enters studio with German producer V.Santura, which worked with such artists as Dark Fortress, Obscura and Tryptikon among others, to record WINTERHORDE’s second album “Underwatermoon”.
“Underwatermoon” represents more-then-one-hour epic extreme metal art, blended with progrock nostalgia and death-cold touch of North-Atlantic Ocean. A must have for every open-minded metalhead who needs hunting journey through emotions in his metal.

Geneva – year 2004, 4 guys unite their strength to create a new war machine. Jerome (Nostromo, guitars) and Jeremy (Knut, bass) are motivated in playing together a brutal and in-your-face grindcore/death-metal. Basically, the main idea is to have fun and to play without any stress. Thomas (Sumpfucking, vocals) and Seb (Deceit, drums) join the army and Mumakil create their first songs in June 2004.
In November, Mumakil play their first show in Geneva, opening for Blockheads (from France) and grindcore heroes Nasum (from Örebro, Sweden). This concert is a total success. After that, Mumakil record their first demo in January 2005 in Jerome’s home-studio (aka Terrier 5) in Geneva.
The year 2005 is characterized by the rise of Mumakil in the grindcore and metal scene in Europe. The Demo 2005 is available on Mumakil website (for free), and hundreds of freaks download it every month. Mumakil creates also its own Myspace page, and receive every day positive comments and encouragements. Mumakil play a few concerts this year and almost get on their first tour, in October across France (with Lost Sphere Project from Geneva as support). This tour makes it possible for Mumakil to be really known in France.
From January to March 2006, Mumakil get in Jerome’s studio to record their 1st album : “Customized Warfare”. 32 tracks of straight, tight, brutal grindcore.
The album is mixed by Jerome in April. Then Mumakil send the CD in Sweden, where it’s masterised by Thomas Eberger at the Cutting Room, in Solna.
Mumakil concluded a deal with the Greek label Blast Beat Mailmurder to re-edit the 1st demo as a 7” (the “Stop Whining” EP).
In summer 2006, Mumakil play at the Obscene Extreme Festival, in Trutnov (Czech Republic) with more than 50 grind and death-metal bands. Mumakil also play at the famous Mountains of Death Festival in Muotathal (Switzerland) in August 2006 with bands like Suffocation (USA), Wasteform (USA), Rotten Sound (Finland), or Disavowed (NL).
Mumakil released Customized Warfare as their 1st full-length on Overcome Records in October 2006. After that, they get on tour with Blockheads, from 19th to 28th October, in France.
2007: Mumakil continue to tour in France & Switzerland and leave to England for their very first UK TOUR (March 2007). This is a great experience for the band. (During this tour, Mumakil opened for “Carving Europe Tour 200” w/ Necrophagist, Misery Index, Disrkeet, Origin, in Leeds).
After that, their label Overcome Records must cease its activities due to any structural and financial problems. Then Mumakil signs a deal with the Canadian label Caustic Rhythm (Prodisk) in order to repress the album and tour in Canada / USA in the future.
On 22nd June 2007, Mumakil plays at HELLFEST Festival in Nantes/Clisson with other metal giants like Slayer, Megadeth, Napalm Death, Emperor, Neurosis & more.
Then Mumakil get back in studio to record several new songs which will appear on 3 new splits :
split w/ Misery Index “Ruling Class Canceled” (on Power-it-up records)
split w/ Inhume “Slimewave Series N°6” (on Relapse records)
split w/ Blockheads “Night of the grinding dead” (Bones Brigade records)
Several shows in autumn and winter 2007…
2008 : After touring in Italy and Spain (February – March 2008) Mumakil conclude a deal with Relapse Records to release their next album, on which the band is currently working hard.

Los Angeles, CA’s ABYSMAL DAWN will begin recording the follow-up album to their Relapse debut Programmed To Consume this May at Trench Studio in Corona, CA with John Haddad (PHOBIA, INTRONAUT, HIRAX). The album will be mixed by Erik Rutan (HATE ETERNAL, VITAL REMAINS, CANNIBAL CORPSE) at his Mana Recording Studios in St. Petersburg, FL. A fall release date is expected.
ABYSMAL DAWN’s Charles Elliot commented on the upcoming album; “It’s always great to work with John Haddad, whom we’ve worked with on our previous two releases. This time we thought we’d try something a little different though as far as the mix goes. After to speaking to Erik Rutan at great length we know he’s the man for the job. He’s a living legend and knows how real death metal should sound! Everyone in the band is really excited to be working with him and we know this is going to be our most crushing release yet. We’ve been hard at work demoing all the material before we enter the studio and things sound amazing already! This will be our catchiest yet most extreme and technical release to date.
We’re also happy to be working with our new drummer Scott Fuller (ex-HAVOK, ex-SKITZO, ex-ASHES OF ICONS). Scott comes from more of a thrash background but was born to play death metal and has never had the outlet for that until now. So far it’s been a real pleasure to be in a band with someone with the same fire for this music as Mike and I again. A fitting replacement for Terry with even more chops to boot.”
Additional recording details will be made available shortly.
Audio samples and video from the band’s Programmed To Consume album can be viewed online now via the ABYSMAL DAWN MySpace page: Myspace.com/AbymsalDawn.
A Message From Power It Up Team:
We can announce our next CD release, we are really happy that we can annouce the CD issue from D.I.S. – Critical Failure CD is coming sometime in may on POWER IT UP.
here are some more information
A crushing powerhouse of Swedish influenced D-Beat mixed with ripping metal and thrash, backed by traditionally aggressive punk vocals. This is D.I.S. Bringing together a combined total of over 75 years experience and dedication to the underground through various bands, DIS is an unstoppable bulldozer of heaviness and ferocity.
Mike Fisher – Vocals Bruce Reeves – Guitar Leon del Muerte – Guitar Kent Elmore – Bass Sean Vahle – Drums
DIS Started to take form in 2008 as a new undertaking from Bruce Reeves, a founding member of Grindcore legends Phobia and heavy sludge masters Mange. Parting ways with Phobia after 15 years of grinding, it was time to move in another direction. Enlisting the help of Sean Vahle (Eat The Living) on drums and Mike Fisher (ex-No Warning) on Vocals, song writing began. D.I.S. then invited Kent Elmore, formerly of Mange to join the band on Bass and put the finishing touches on what would become their 2008 demo. Shortly after the demo, long time friend and underground legend Leon del Muerte whose entirely-too-long list of bands include such acts as Exhumed, Intronaut, Phobia, Impaled and Murder Construct was recruited to play guitar. With the line up now secure, D.I.S. were ready to hit the stage in full force. Playing with the likes of The Accused, Naked Aggression, General Surgery, Phobia, Cattle Decapitation, Litmus Green, Lack Of Interest, Bastard Noise, War cry, and Gravehill, D.I.S established themselves as a brutal band that appeals to both the heaviest of metal and punk crowds. Cementing the line up and their unique sound, the end of 2009 brought D.I.S. back into the studio to record their first full length “Critical Failure”. With a release in Spring 2010 through Deep Six (US) and Power It Up (EUR), D.I.S. will be heading across the U.S. in support of their new record. In the works are a few split releases and future plans for a new record in 2011, with a European tour to follow along with other various world dominating activities.
Swedish heavy metal sensations ENFORCER have revealed the cover art for their new album, DIAMONDS, due to be released in Europe by Earache Records on May 24th and the rest of the world by Heavy Artillery Records on May 25th.

ENFORCER singer OLOF WIKSTRAND comments:
“Diamonds in some way refers to that we’re seeing things in a little bigger perspective, or at least we think we do, haha. To me the word sounds majestic in some strange way, and that’s what I like about it too.
“It was a bit dared, but also very natural for us to put ourselves on the cover. That was actually the first thing we greed on concerning the artwork. The idea with us holding the diamond just came to us when we put one and two together.”
